Imagine a city........


Black and dark, and there was no light to be seen.  There was anger and fighting in the dark all the time.  Then one day, There's a bright light in the distance, coming closer and closer up the street.  But, as you see it coming, it is growing bigger and bigger.  There was one person amongst the darkness, and he (Or she ; )  Has given the light to every one else as He goes.  The light he is holding never goes dim or burns out.  And, he doesn't keep the light to himself, but shares it with every one else.

One by one, a candle is lit in each window sill, and soon, the whole city is lit up!
Can you imagine seeing that!! 

Think of if God saw that when He looked down on the world.  Think of if that person with the light was you, and the city with only darkness was the world.  And you were not afraid to share and spread the light to the world, lighting it up, one person at a time.

The world is hurting and dark, But, with God's grace, and strength, and love, we can light it up, we can Set the world on fire for God!!!

Challenges:

 

1. Draw your own picture symbolizing this, and have "Set the world on fire" written on it.

 

2. Keep a small candle (Lit or unlit)  in your room, so you'll be reminded of this.

I know this is NOT a Saturday, but i got way behind on my "Social life", so i was not able to do a post on Sat. For my "Girl chat"!!!

So, even though this is a Tuesday, i am gonna do the  "Girl chat" anyway!

Topic:

Can you imagine walking out on a tree limb, over a waterfall, 1,000 feet up in the air, and not being scared.  Or, can you imagine riding a bicycle on a busy high-way, on one of the lanes with a car driving 100 mph??

Don;t get me wrong, I'm not saying i would.

Now, could you imagine, with out fear, going up to a none-believer at walmart, and talking about Jesus and how he died for us, and how you have accepted Him into your heart?  Or, even just showing you are a Christian, around None-believers, and standing out as a Christian? 

Which sounds harder now??

Sometimes, it can be really easy to think that our Christianity is embarrassing, or strange, just because it's different to other people.  But, just think about living a bold life for Christ where you were daring, and unafraid in any situation to stand out as a Christian!!!

1. I know it can sometimes be hard to smile at some one you don;t like, or you are angry at, But this week smile at them!

2.  Don't be afraid to stand out as a Christian!!!

This is my first post of this, so i don't expect many of you to be able to chat, but i hope u'll join in!

Topic:

Our days on earth are really, really short, especially if u compare it to the eternal life we will recieve in Heaven. I mean, nothing can get longer than eternal, right?!

So, when u think of that, and then our days on earth, it seems so short!

But, that doesn't mean we can't do anything!!

There arwe 365 days a year, about 30 days a month, 24 hours in a day.  Come on, we can't just sit around and say "My life's so short, how can i do anything in this short amount of time?!"

If u were at a party that was only 2 hours long, u wouldn't just stand there and fret, and say "We can't od anything in 2 hours!". You would try to fit in as much as possible, right? U would find time to paint ur nails, do eachother's hair, decorate cupcakes....and all that girl stuff!

So, even though our life is short on earth, that doesn't mean we can't do anything!

God put us on this earth for a reason, and He didn't give us this time on earth just to wait around till we die!

We should try to do all we can to with the time we have on earth to glorify God!

1. Keep a bouquet of wildflowers in ur bedroom, so whenever u look at it, u will think of these verses.

2. Get a pretty, glittery (Preferrably : ) noetebook, and keep a journal of every day life.

I know this may sound weird or random, but it's a title that popped into my head!  It comes from "He's Got the whole world in His hands" and from the Bible verse:

Psalm 103:15

Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die.

Meaning, we are in God's hands, and we are like flowers. Our days on earth are short, and we should use the time we have to glorify Him.  I decided to pick my favorite flower, Sunflowers! 

But, notice in the title, It's written SOnshine, which means we are children of God's SOn, Jesus Christ!

This Bible study sorta thing, is more of a "girl chat" time, where we can spend more time in God's word, and chat with other Christians girls at the same time!

I'll write a topic of the Bible, and a challenge. 

You gals out there will read the post, study the Bible verse(s), and complete the challenge! (I'll do it too : )

Then, we'll chat over e-mail or blogger (Or whatever u have ur blog on) on the topic!
